2015 Subaru Legacy Spy Shots

The new Legacy will arrive in showrooms as a 2015 model, in keeping with Subaru’s five-year product cycles, and we should see it unveiled early next year. Though the prototype is heavily masked, we can clearly see its styling has borrowed elements from Subaru’s striking WRX concept shown at the 2013 New York Auto Show. Key elements include a rectangular grille, coupe-like profile, C-shaped lights at the rear, and dual-exhaust tips.

According to our photographer, the prototype was seen testing alongside an Audi Allroad and the outgoing Infiniti G37x. Symmetrical all-wheel drive will remain standard. As for powertrains, expect a 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit to continue in the base 2.5i model. This engine was only added for the outgoing Legacy’s 2013 facelift, so expect its 173-horsepower rating to also remain unchanged. A six-speed manual should remain the standard transmission option, with a continuously variable transmission continuing to be offered as an option. Source www.motorauthority.com

2015 Kia Sportage Spy Shots

2015 Kia Sportage has been spied wearing less camouflage than ever before. Caught undergoing testing in the United States, the facelifted crossover has a revised grille and updated headlights. The rear end is heavily disguised but we can expect some minor changes including a revised bumper and restyled taillights.

Our spies couldn't get close enough to snap interior photos, but the model is expected to feature some modest changes including an upgraded infotainment system. Engine options could carryover so expect to see a variety of GDi and CRDi units.  Front wheel drive will be standard, but all-wheel drive will continue to be optional. The facelifted Sportage is expected to be launched next summer, possibly as a 2015 model. Source

2015 Kia Sedona Spy Shots

The profile of the 2015 Sedona mimics the Honda Odyssey with a slight kink in the character line by the C-pillar, and the roofline tapers with this rising beltline to create a wedge-like profile in the rear. The taillights are also similar in shape to those on the Cadenza, which are themselves inspired by the Audi A6 and A8. Overall, the Sedona should give Kia’s minivan a more upscale look than the bland second-generation van that was introduced in 2006 and slightly revised in 2014.

We assume the new Sedona’s interior will also move upscale like other Kia’s like the Forte and Optima have as of late. The 2015 Kia Sedona will most likely be powered by a V-6 engine like the current model; one likely possibility is the 3.3-liter direct-injection V-6 from the Kia Cadenza and Sorento. Keep an eye out for the 2015 Kia Sedona next year when it makes its official debut. Source rumors.automobilemag.com

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Spy Shots

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT undergoing testing in the desert with a new 600-plus horsepower supercharged V-8 dubbed “Hellcat”. The Hellcat is Chrysler’s answer to the 662-horsepower Ford Mustang GT500 and 580-horsepower Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The car will receive power from a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that should make it competitive with the aforementioned cars; the current Challenger SRT 392 has a 470-horsepower, 6.4-liter engine. It’s unclear whether both engines will be sold alongside one another.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Hellcat 08 300x199 imageMoving in a cadre of SRT vehicles, the Hellcat-equipped Dodge Challengers look to have revised noses with new, deeper air intakes to feed their vastly more powerful engines. The protruding exhaust setup around back looks temporary to make sure the engine flows properly. Look for the pipes and rear bumper to be revised for the production version. Speaking of production, expect the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with the Hellcat engine to go on sale in 2014 as a 2015 model, with the car possibly making its debut at January’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit. 2015 MINI Cooper S Five-Door Spy Shots

The third generation of the modern MINI Cooper is set for a reveal next week and will eventually spawn a new five-door variant that is expected to reach showrooms in late 2014, making it a 2015 model. These are our latest spy shots of a prototype for this more family friendly MINI. On initial glance the prototype looks similar to previous mules for the regular MINI Cooper three-door, but it clearly features four doors and what looks to be a conventional rear hatch--making this a five-door. Center-mounted exhaust tips also confirm that this is the slightly sportier Cooper S version of the new MINI five-door.

To accommodate the extra doors, MINI’s designers have stretched the wheelbase. It also appears they’ve raised the height of the roof in order to maximize interior space. We’ve previously reported on the five-door MINI Cooper, which is likely to replace the suicide-door-equipped Clubman. It’s not clear whether this model will pick up the Clubman name or be called something entirely else. MINI has confirmed that its new Cooper will launch with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine delivering approximately 134 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque (169 pound-feet with overboost function) in the base model, while a 2.0-liter four-cylinder will offer 189 horsepower and 206 pound-feet of torque (221 pound-feet with overboost) in the Cooper S. 2015 Porsche 911 GT2 Spy Shots

Like the previous 911 GT2, the new model will feature a similar spec to the contemporary 911 Turbo, the new 2014 911 Turbo, but to separate the two the 911 GT2 will stick to rear-wheel drive and have a higher output. This means it will feature a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine, four-wheel steering and engine stop-start technology.Peak output is expected to register at 560 horsepower,  which is on par with the output of the latest 911 Turbo S and 30 horsepower more than the output of the previous 911 GT2.

As for the transmission, Porsche’s seven-speed PDK dual-clutch unit is likely to replace the previous 911 GT2’s six-speed manual. By 2015, a new generation of the ultimate 911, the infamous 911 GT2 RS, is expected to land. This model is expected to match the 620 horsepower of the outgoing model but benefit from a lighter curb weight, the quick-shifting PDK and the new four-wheel-steering setup. 2015 Volkswagen Touareg Spy Shots

Engineers typically use these roads for validation of transmission and braking systems, which one would expect this early in the car’s development. As this is only a mid-cycle update (the second-generation Touareg has been on sale since 2011), the visual changes to the car will be modest. Camouflage gear on the front and rear sections of this prototype suggest we’re likely to see some new bumpers, a revised grille and possibly some changes to the lights. Inside, Volkswagen is expected to update the infotainment system by installing its latest modular unit.

The system is based around a capacitive touch-screen mounted in the dash that will allow the driver to control most of the vehicle functions via the screen, or by using voice or steering wheel controls. Though it’s yet to be confirmed, we could also see output of some of the Touareg’s engines increased for the 2015 model year. The 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 in the TDI model could see its current 225-horsepower rating boosted to somewhere around 260 horsepower and overseas we could see a four-cylinder engine added to the lineup. 2015 Toyota Prius Spy Shots

Toyota Prius has been spotted testing in prototype form, revealing a familiar form for the latest generation of the world’s most popular hybrid. However, while the exterior is likely to feature only evolutionary changes (much of the design is dictated by aerodynamics), under the skin we’re expecting plenty of advancements. Looking at this prototype, which was spotted testing in the U.S., we can clearly tell that the new Prius will sit lower and feature a sleeker profile than the current model. One of the shots even has the two generations sitting next to each other.

If Toyota sticks to its model cadence, we expect to see the new Prius make its official world debut at the Detroit Auto Show, either in 2014 or the follow year. The former is more likely, meaning we’re likely to see it in showrooms before the end of next year, making it a 2015 model. Interestingly, production of the 2015 Toyota Prius is expected to take place in the U.S. for the first time. Expect U.S.-spec cars to come with a lithium-ion battery as part of an updated Hybrid Synergy Drive system. The switch from current nickel-metal hydride technology is due to the better density and lighter weight of lithium batteries. Source www.motorauthority.com

2015 Hyundai Sonata Spy Shots

Hyundai is getting offensive for the upcoming models which it has stored in for the future days, to gain more hays than others.  Though it was the next-gen Hyundai i20 that had scored our clearance recently in the camouflaged avatar, this time the freshly spied model is the ‘2015 Sonata’ which is said to do the job for Koreans in an extremely elegant yet exquisite manner.

Tough one may also see Genesis there in the repertoire of Hyundai at that same level of segment, but the expensive price tags on it would drive out the customers from showroom who aren’t much capable of. It is the Sonata which covers all of the niche subjects under its hat and also drives the perfect costing to all the markets it is being shelled to. Article source link

2015 Honda Civic Type-R Spy Shots

Honda itself just published a teaser video in which it announces that the Civic Type R is coming, without actually showing the car. "We hope you're just as excited about the new Civic Type R as we are, why not watch the teaser film and take the Quiz to get access to exclusive content from the Frankfurt Motor Show - including the full length film as soon as it's LIVE," reads Honda's release. Since it has already been officially confirmed that the new Type R will go on sale in Europe in 2015, the brand's statement suggests that Honda will release something at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
Whether that something will be a full promotional video or a pre-production concept of the Civic Type-R remains unknown at this time. Honda CEO Takanobu Ito has said that the company is aiming to beat the record for the fastest front-wheel drive production car on the Nürburgring, currently held by the 265hp Renault Megane 265 Trophy, which means that the new Type R may very well flirt with the 300hp mark. The latest racing Civic WTCC, which looks very similar in appearance to this prototype, sports Honda's new 1.6-liter 4 cylinder direct injection turbocharged HR-412E petrol engine. Article Source
